LIVE!Museum

Tuesday 14th September I was fortunate enough to be invited to participate in the Research*Mart at the School of Museum Studies, University of Leicester. The full-day workshop was a festival of creativity, spontaneity and professional exchange which it was a privilege to be part of. This was the final stage in the LIVE!Museum project, led by Dr. Ross Parry at Leicester’s Museum Studies. Part of an AHRC / BT funded initiative to create viable research projects exploring ‘live’ content, this Research*Mart was the final stage, drawing together work from 3 earlier ‘sandpits’. Details will appear on the Museum Computer Group site in due course, but having contributed to discussions on soundscapes and ‘live visitor books’, I was most enthusiastic about the notion of individual objects being made ‘live’, a project called “I, Object” – watch this space, there are sure to be some excellent research projects to come.
